Riverside Canoe & Tube Rental, Inc. (our formal business name) is located on the banks of the South Fork of the New River in Crumpler, NC. Riverside Canoe, a full service outfitter, offers New River canoeing in Northeastern Ashe County. With Riverside Canoe you can begin your adventures canoeing or kayaking on the beautiful south fork along the 26 mile section of the National Wild & Scenic New River. We offer canoe, kayak, tube, and cabin rentals. Our self guided New River paddling trips range from 5 miles to 11 miles, or overnight. If you're not sure what trip to take, give us a call and we'll be happy to go over the details of each New River canoeing trip with you. Lessons are available for those who are unsure or have not paddled before.
The New River, which is believed to be the second oldest river in the world, with it's free flowing water and sections of mild rapids, is great for novice as well as experienced paddlers. Riverside Canoe is within a short drive to the New River State Parks, Jefferson and West Jefferson and convenient to Boone, Blowing Rock, Sparta and the Blue Ridge Parkway, as well as the High Country ski areas.

Canoe, kayak, and camping cabin season normally starts in April and ends at the end of October, depending on weather conditions.
Tubing season starts on Memorial weekend and usually ends by the 2nd weekend in September, depending on weather conditions.
We now have 3 small primitive tent camping sites at Riverside along a running brook. Click on the camping cabin prompt to the left for more information.
